Log Cabin Day is this Sunday, June 30
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! If you love log cabins.
I do.
Michigan Log Cabin Day is on Sunday, June 30. In Detroit, we’re celebrating at Palmer Park, home of Senator Thomas Palmer’s 1885 log cabin.
Last year this event was one of my favorite of the whole summer, and this year it’s going to be even better. Square dancing! Blues music! Free ice cream! Costumes! Prizes (including A SHINOLA BIKE)! FoodLab Detroit vendors will be there with picnic food!
These are all great reasons to attend, but even without the bells and whistles it’d be worth your while for the sole fact that the cabin will be open to the public, as it rarely has been since it closed in 1979.
Oh, and around 1:30 p.m., I’ll be speaking about the history of the cabin and why I love it so much. Join me!
