I, too, served with you aboard USS England. I was an OS2 and also served as the ships MARS Operator.

I served with Oliver Hazard Perrry III on board the “USS England CG-22″ out of 32nd St. Naval Station, San Diego, CA. During 1983-1984. He would be at that time the Executive Officer of my vessel. Is there any information to tell me where he is now and was he directly related to the Commondore of Lake Eerie history?

My maiden name was Hazard, my grandfather and uncle “Oliver Perry Hazard,” both named to honor our distant relation. I don’t think we are direct descendants, rather related through a cousin, but I’m working to find original sources to confirm the connection – which is why I happened to find your article.
